We recommend sliding the foam and impact plate out and placing them inside the bag, underneath the Starlink Mini if you are going to be stationary\/not in a place where extra impact protection is required. We have not seen any issues with overheating when those two protective pieces are removed from their pocket. For on the go use, air flow keeps the Starlink Mini cool and you can leave one or both protective pieces in place.
