  • A: No, the Night Vision Battery Pack comes with two Helmet Retention Tabs that can attach to any screw type on a helmet (strap screws, rails, etc). The shock cord can also be threaded through rail systems, or other mounting tabs (e.g. ones on a counterweight). We also include adhesive backed hook & loop with every order so that if your battery pack doesn't have any or if your helmet needs it as well you have everything you need.
  • Q: Does the Night Vision Battery Pack work with my battery pack?
  • A: Probably. Our design works with every major setup on the market and holds them securely. If you have a new battery pack or you aren't sure, reach out to us to confirm.

The only battery retention ever.

MH-1 + Doko Designs blackbox recorder / Wilcox g24 / Alamo night vision Fischer to USB A / nestout 15k 3 port power bank

This is the best set up for my power bank battery pack, to power my nods, mission recorder, and ancillary USB devices while keeping the weight lower and not having to have a standalone battery pack + power banks to power all my headborne equipment. The battery pack retainer is able to hold the massive power bank securely while balancing my helmet for my needs exceptionally well, better than any of the current market options available for my set up.

Thank you Mastenn! Really appreciate it.

Best Battery Back Retention I've used

Solid battery back retention, I really like it and the fact you can have it set up a few different ways. I have it set up a little different than the installation video. Alot better than MicroBat and some of the other battery pack retention I've tried, and for cheaper. Definitely worth the price

Good stuff

Holds the battery pack as advertised. Awesome shipping and super competitive pricing compared to similar options and In my opinion looks cooler than the exposed tegris. Good product recommend it for sure.

Good Pack Retainer , Not good for Steele Ind. Battery Pack

Holds the pack fine but you have no access to the port for the optic cable and when you do install it and cinch it down it puts unwanted pressure on the neck of the cable. Good pack holder it just doesn't really work with the Steele Ind. Battery pack as stated in the description.

Thank you for review and sorry for the delayed reply here. We do recommend you slightly adjust the shock cord placement to be more angular and this should help with some of the pressure. That said, there is going to be pressure on the connector with the Steele battery pack. This is definitely a function trade off for making the Night Vision Battery Pack Retainer fit as many different types as possible.

LOVE IT!

I'm running Low Light Innovation MH-1s with their new LLBP (battery pack). The LLBP is small and very lightweight; I was unsure if the Forge Concepts Night Vision Battery Back Retainer would hold it securely due to its size and the awkward cable port that protrudes out the side. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that not only was fitment great, but the whole piece of gear was thoughtfully designed and looked great on my Ops-Core Fast SF Carbon. Would definitely recommend and can confirm compatibility with the LLBP. Thank you!

High quality. As advertised.

It does what it says on the tin.

Stitching is extremely, extremely neat. It's clear a lot of care went into manufacturing this relatively mundane piece of kit. FC is legit. Could not be happier with this system!

Very nice counterweight/battery pack retainer. It’s minimalistic, lightweight, easy to install, and best of all…it can fit basically ANYTHING thanks to how little material there is. I am using it to hold an Elecom NESTOUT 15k mAh power bank.

Second Battery Pack Retainer

This is my second one from Forge. If it was bad I wouldn’t have got #2. That’s all you really need to know about it. So good you’ll buy it twice.

This is the best retainer out on the market no issues so far, holds very well in airborne operations. Instructions and install are easy, and the quality of the material is great.

Pros:

• Small, compact.
• Pairs up well with a counterweight (if you desire).
• Helps route/store NVG cable.
• Color match to unit SOP.

Cons:

• No way to tie down an IR strobe.

Very helpful, once I watched the video. I understood how to emplace the holder.

What’s not to like?

While at my last unit we didn’t have the privilege of battery pack retainers or pouches. It was all Velcro, 550, and/or duck tape. On the Civ’ish side I’ve been able to try out lots of different things. This is definitely without a doubt the best option for the job intended. Plus if you are in a position to which you need a form of cat eyes, dark red/ to ir spectrum beads can go right on the shock cord retainers.
